Just putting this out there. Last night I watched In Her Shoes, for the tenth time or so, and besides having some very interesting story lines, the film also incorporates three great acting performances. Cameron Diaz and Shirley MacLaine both are excellent in their own ways. For Diaz it was a chance for her to combine the usual roles she always plays with a more serious undertone, and for Shirley MacLaine it was just another day at the top of the acting world. For the third leading actress, In Her Shoes incorporates yet an additional testimony to her greatness.
Toni Collette knows how to act. I don’t think I would have to argue with you, or anyone else, about that certainty. Yet, I don’t think people really know how well she can act, fully embodying her part, becoming one with it and raising the character to new levels.
Not just in In Her Shoes, but also in Muriel’s Wedding (Golden Globe nomination), The Sixth Sense, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award, The Hours, and Little Miss Sunshine (Golden Globe and BAFTA Award nomination). Each time she brought so much depth and emotion to the character, that if it had been played by anyone else, it would’ve been a disaster element.
Collette deserves an Academy Award, a real golden boy. She has so much to offer in cinematic arts, and even though she has already given much, still has a lot to offer. I can’t wait to see her in Showtime’s “The United States of Tara.”

So, I stopped doing comments on my blog. Twitter, Facebook, and good-old e-mail do a much better job, in my experience and opinion.
