Twitter rant about the Academy Awards

Will Kate Winslet finally win her first Academy Award next year? Considering it has been long overdue, yes.
Talk about travesties! Though, to be fairly honest, she has been up against some strong winners in the years she was nominated.
On the other, Marion Cotillard won for 2007, while Julie Christie so should’ve gotten the Academy Award. So, fairness isn’t always key.
Heck, I [even] thought Cate Blanchett was better than Cotillard, as Queen Elizabeth. (The movie sucked, yes, but her performance was great!)

Not that Marion Cotillard was bad, she was just less memorable than Christie and Blanchett.
Don’t even get me started on 2006. Jennifer Hudson, Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress? PLEASE.
Yes, it was stellar for a first timer. But that’s not what the Academy Awards are about.
Rinko Kikuchi (Babel) and Blanchett (another award [stolen] from her) so kicked her ass in acting!
Ugh, why do I still like the Academy Awards? The Academy keeps on disappointing me with their weird (and stupid) choices.
I have already said this before, but I feel still some resentment against the Academy for handing Jamie Foxx an Academy Award. Seriously!
Ray was one of the worst movies of 2004! His performance was snooze-inducing!
I’m not a DiCaprio fan, but he should’ve protested! His performance as Howard Hughes was so much better!
(Though, The Aviator was a snooze too, except for Blanchett, of course.)
Another thing, perhaps handing Nicolas Cage over Anthony Hopkins an Award was a bad decision too? (Talking about 1995 now.)
Hopkins was brilliant as Richard Nixon, where Cage was just great in Leaving Las Vegas.
I do agree with most of the Academy Award for Best Picture winners though.
Except for The Departed (Babel [should've won]), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Lost in Translation), Chicago (The Hours), …
I’m still a bit torn over 2007. No Country for Old Men was BRILLIANT, but There Will Be Blood was slightly more brilliant…
[Yet,] since I believe the Academy Awards are about the most memorable performance, No Country for Old Men prevails.
What about Crash then? It was significantly better than Brokeback Mountain, but was it more memorable? Torn!

That was it — for today at least. I have so much issues with the way the Academy Awards have been distributed in the past few years. Lets hope the 81st Academy Awards (airing February 22nd) will be a major improvement!

So, I stopped doing comments on my blog. Twitter, Facebook, and good-old e-mail do a much better job, in my experience and opinion.
