The Great Flood That Never Came: Preface

It doesn’t come often that I remember sudden inspirational ideas. Usually they come over me on the most of inefficient moments. I never seem to have anything around to write notes on, and they always seem to happen when I’m preparing for something. Because I then move on to do that something, I completely forget everything I had just thought about and poof!, the inspiration is gone.

Yesterday I got this great idea about a story that tells what actually happened with Noah’s Ark and the Deluge/Great Flood. Of course it’s not what actually-actually happened, because I wasn’t there, but it will be a fictional telling of the flood story. … Though, I guess since I already consider the story of Noah’s Ark to be fiction, my idea is to write a fictional telling of the already fictional flood story…

Anyway, out of that idea came “The Great Flood That Never Came.” A series of short stories, which I’m going to publish here. I have not yet set a publishing schedule, but I think it’ll be weekly. Not sure how long it’s going to be, considering I’m making up the story along the way. But I can tell you the basic premise:

Ferran is a trader, who lives near the city of Eridu, and who trades in the majestical city of Ur. Along his trade route from Eridu to Ur lives a landowner, Noah, who is infamous in the region for his big imagination. When the weather in the region turns bad, Noah has his own interpretations of it.

Oh, I’m so going to Hell for these stories — believe me, I know. And still, somehow I don’t care that much… Enjoy the series!

So, I stopped doing comments on my blog. Twitter, Facebook, and good-old e-mail do a much better job, in my experience and opinion.
